We do not have a farm stand. We live 3 miles up dirt roads and it is impractical to have a stand in our location.
Friday, June 14th 2024 will be the first CSA delivery. The last CSA date will be Oct 4th.
The store is open to the public for ordering from Saturday a.m.-Monday 7:00 a.m.
The store is open for CSA customers who want to customize their share on Wednesday a.m.-Thursday 7:00 a.m.
The best way to know when the store is open is to sign up for our weekly Newsletter. I send that out directly after I’ve opened the store.

Yes! Just like other sites, you need to set up an account and then each time you want to order you need to Log In. The store will allow you to put items in the cart but you won’t be able to Check Out if you haven’t logged in.
Pick up anytime after 3:00pm on Friday, the closer to 3:00pm you pick up, the fresher your share will be. East Burke pick up time is 4:30pm.
Same day Pick Up is important, try to get your share on Fridays. All of our Pick Up spots have been kind enough to let us utilize their space! If you are picking up at a retail store please consider supporting that store as a way to say thanks for the cooler space!
If you have an issue with your share please contact us, as the host of your Pick Up spot cannot help.

Yes, we do! We have the most variety in the heart of the summer and the least in the winter of course. In the heart of winter we sell microgreens, pea shoots, sunflower shoots and microsalad.
The store is open every week of the year, with different offerings depending on the time of year.
You have 2 options each week for your CSA share. You can Customize your own share or have us create a share for you.
If you choose to Customize, you’ll need to create your own box for that week by creating an order on our online store. (If you haven’t Registered for an account you’ll need to do that first, top right corner of the website smallaxefarm.com)
NOTE: If we don’t see an order from you and you haven’t asked us to skip, we will assume you’d like us to create your share that week.
Customizing is great for folks who have certain vegetables or herbs they prefer not to receive. Since you won’t know exactly what we will be delivering each week, Customizing is your best bet if there are vegetables you don’t want.
These are your 2 options. We cannot accommodate folks by writing down the 1 or 2 vegetables they don’t ever want and keep track of 50 peoples preferences (yes, we actually did that for years and it was so much work) Customizing is our best solution to give folks the most options.

Anyone can Customize their box any week they like, but it isn’t a requirement. If you want to Customize you will need to create your whole order for the week by doing the following:
Register for an account on our online farm store: www.smallaxefarm.com/shop
When you receive your weekly email with the subject line: “the store is open” it means the store is stocked and ready for you!
Log in and choose what you would like in your box that week.
Go to Checkout and at the top left of the screen you will see a link that says “Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code”
It will ask for your coupon code…your code is your name (I.e. Heidi Choate)
Once that is applied it will bring your balance down to zero.
Choose a Pick Up spot and don’t forget to hit Complete Checkout
Prepay allows customers who do not necessarily want to commit to a Summer CSA share, to get a discount on the produce they will buy throughout the year.
Pre-Pay Discount for online farm store users –
Deadline is March 15th for a discount ($300 minimum)
5% off $300-$400
7% off $500 or more
Note:- This is a once a year opportunity for a great discount!
Anyone can order from our online store. You do need to create an account and log in to order, but you don’t need to sign up for anything. Just order whenever you like and pay at checkout. The store is open to the public Saturdays-Monday a.m. for ordering with a Tuesday afternoon pick up.
This one is pretty important!
If you are going to Customize, please wait until you receive my weekly email saying “the store is open”…I will send this every Wednesday morning.
You will have until Thursday morning 7:30am to Customize, otherwise you will receive a share that we have created (don’t worry, they are great!)
We cannot take orders after Thursday 7:30a.m. because we have such an enormous number of deliveries to CSA, Coops, restaurants and schools, it is quite the juggling act! Late orders make our day even crazier, so thanks in advance for being timely!!
NOTE: If you Customize your order directly after seeing my “store is open” email, you’ll have more options, items can sell out quickly!!
Yes!
The store is open year round to the general public every Saturday and Sunday for ordering. Folks who order on the weekend get their deliveries on Tuesdays at 3:00pm. Same Pick Up spots… You can either Pay as you go or put some extra funds on your account…
Our online store can sometimes have glitches, especially if you leave items in your cart, change your mind and leave the site.
If you can’t checkout or are having trouble with something in your cart, there is a “CLEAR CART” button at the bottom of the Checkout or View Cart page. Once you clear your cart, you can begin fresh and things should work fine.
If you need to reset your password just contact me. I can do it from my end of things. The “reset your password” on the site isn’t working.
Yes! Log in and go to “My Account” and click on “Orders”. It will summarize every order you have placed and how much you have spent on each. It will not give you a total unfortunately, often times it’s easier to ask me what your balance is.
If you have a Small Share you can spend $20/week
If you have a Large Share you can spend $40/week
Here is the fine print on that…you can be a little over, or a little under on any given week.
In essence, you have a coupon (or credit) on your store account…if you have a small share and decide that $30 is what you actually want to spend each week, not $20, that’s fine. Your CSA will simply end a little sooner when you run out of funds. (You can add extra funds anytime in the season)
If you spend less each week, you will have funds in your account to spend anytime after CSA ends, and before Dec 31, 2024. Our store is open year round. Funds do not carry over to the next year.
If your funds run out, you can put more funds into your account so you can eat local year round…
Need to skip a week? Just shoot me an email…your credit will still be on your account…
